And how do you like my new page???? I just LOVE it!! I feel all brand new and shiny! Michelle at Shabby Creations did it for me and she is just wonderful! I am so illiterate when it comes to computer "stuff" and so I told her I don't know how to do much of anything, but she said not to worry she would handle it and she did!!! And so fast!! I told her a little bit about me and she created this and I so, so LOVE it!!
It's really all Stacey's fault at Poofing the Pillows ~ she got one and it was so pretty ~ I wanted one too!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day! Mine was, well....let me think. It RAINED Saturday, Sunday AND Monday!! I was just about stir crazy so I told my husband we had to get out of the house or I was going to go postal!! At one point I walked through the den and he was intently watching a BLACK and WHITE movie! Seriously...it was THAT old!! I said what is that??? He said "Remember the Alamo". I said, "don't you know what happens?" Remember Quint, the guy who was the captain in Jaws? He was in this movie, and he was about 17 years old!!
Then we had the marathon of Jon and Kate Plus Eight, and my most dreaded one that Steve LOVES ~ Modern Marvels and How is That Made?!! I don't care! Shoot me now!! Seriously.....go ahead and do it!! Make it fast and painless!!!
I HAD to get out of the house!!!!
So Steve suggested that we go to The Bass Pro Shop! Now, doesn't that sound just like something a man would suggest???!??? BUT, I relented and say okay! Not exactly what I had in mind, but......
The Bass Pro Shop.......that place is FULL of hunting stuff, and fishing stuff, and hiking and boating stuff! Nothing I would be interested in!! We were in there FOREVER!!!! I thought I would implode!
I peered out the window once to see if there might be a thrift store nearby, or a Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Good Will, or Home Goods ~ ANYTHING~
Nope! Nothing! I "tried" to be good, but when he asked me if I wanted to go upstairs, I looked at him and said UPSTAIRS???? There is MORE???
He said, "let's go."
Next time, I will send him alone.....

That was funny - I feel your pain! Linda
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm back to tell you that I read the cat story and then the car story, you had me in stitches - oh, my goodness. I don't usually read long blogs, but you have a gift for "funny"!!!! Seriously, though, I remembering we paid $600 for a fender bender (our son's fault) rather than report to insurance. It's just not worth risking their attitudes toward male teenage drivers - they'd love to cancel! Love your blog "dress". I'm going back to read some more of your older blogs....still giggling....Linda
ReplyDeleteHow funny! My Stevie says that if THEY can go to T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, Goodwill, etc, then WE can go to Bass Pro with them! lol He made me put this on my comment!
ReplyDeleteI love your new page! It is so beautiful!
Hugs,
Lee Laurie
I so know your pain. They just built a huge, brand new Bass Pro Shopps about 45 minutes from us....and now Jameson is hooked too! It's right in the middle of NOWHERE, so once you are there, you are STUCK! I like the one in Charlotte, NC better....at least it's attached to a MALL!
ReplyDeleteLove you new dress, too!!

I used to feel guilty about asking Mr. Sullivan to accompany me to "my" shopping haunts until he discovered on his own the thrill of thrifting and shopping. Now HE is the one to ask if we can run on down to the antique mall to find treasures! Thank goodness he has no interest in fishing, hunting, or outdoorsy stuff, because I would just not go. And to H*** with the guilt complex...LOL 2 weeks ago our son, Dan dragged us to a huge outlet that was supposed to have all sorts of "neat" (his term) surplus stuff- apparently he had gone while in high school and he found some cool stuff(whatever that means to a jock in high school- I think he bought an old grenade) Well I wanted to leave the minute we walked through the door- it was just junky clothes, electronic switches and motors, and other weird things that "normal" people like me would want! Our in and out adventure lasted 10 minutes and even Dan said the place had changed in the few short years since he was last there. So he asked if we could traipse on down to MY little haunts to find an old dart game. Go figure....LOL
ReplyDeleteOH, I love your new blog look! And it's perfect for your blog title! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's raining here, too. I told a friend earlier that we were going to have to grow gills if it doesn't stop soon. No rain for months, and then WHAMO!
Tomorrow is my hubby's birthday, and I am trying to keep him from reading my blog tonight because I put his birthday post up early! LOL!
And the bass shop... I feel your pain! ;-)
XO,
Sheila :-)
Oh, Lou Cinda! Your new blog dress is so lovely - just like you! Well, you did get to go on a ride! LOL
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
First off...I am so jealous of your new look! I feel absolutely underdressed! Second...Bass Pro Shop, really? Cat Daddy is not a hunter, fisher, nothing and yet he always wants to go there. Why? It just has to be a testerone thing and thank goodness, that even with menopause I don't have that urge...YET!

Your blog dress is gorgeous! I laughed all the way through your post, and when you said you looked out the window to see if there was thrift shop close by, I was really laughing, because I have done that too! Thanks for the laughs. laurie
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't believe you had to endure the Bass Pro Shop. All of my kids decided to go at Christmas, but I passed. I had to endure some time in the original one in Springfield, MO, one time. Never again.
ReplyDeleteReally nice new look!!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the funny posts, we all need them to get thru the day!
Oh you had me laughing!! You described my life here with two sons and a hubby. We now have the Military Channel. Shoot Me Now!! It's always on!
ReplyDeleteDon't even get me started on Bass Pro Shop. We already own most of the stuff they sell. Do you ever walk through the lady's clothing section...thinking surely there's something there you like? I do and Nope there's not!
Your blog is absolutely beautiful! Isn't Michelle just amazing. I felt like she just read my mind!! I bet you've been staring at it over and over..haven't you? It is just perfect.
Have a great day! Come flaunt some red tomorrow.

This is so funny! But seriously girl! How old are you?!?! What's so wrong with black & white movies? Yeah, we watched Patton for the zillionth time!!! And don't forget the longest movie ever...The Longest Day!! It was memorial day so I forgave him for making me sit thru it all! He did sit thru the last 5 min. of Mama Mia with me singing along!!! My DH and I don't shop together! We'll be married 25 yrs. in Sept. and it didn't take us long to figure this one out!!! Funny post and your blog dress is beautiful! God Bless! Lauralu :)

Great new blog look! I am glad that you are back at it, and making me laugh with your Bass Pro Shop story. I know what you mean, I wander through the golfing stores with my husband out of guilt. He will occasionally go to TJ Maxx with me, so I feel obligated not to grumble. How is your yard/garden bench area coming?
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sue.
