Today is the FIRST day...

Of my diet! How fun is that?? Woo hoo!! .... What? No enthusiasm? Joy? NO!! I HATE to diet, though I have lived MOST of my life on one diet or another!

Now, I am not one of those people who weigh everyday! In fact I don't weigh EVER! I don't even OWN scales. Can't handle the pressure! I can tell by the way my clothes fit, if I am where I need to be.....or not! My clothes also "speak" to me!

Here lately, they have been screaming their heads off!! I have not been listening!

Finally....I looked behind me one day....Lord have Mercy! Where did THAT come from and whose is it???

Alas, it was mine...My rear end!! It seems to have taken on a life of its own! It's own little personality...if you will...

I'm not happy with it! Nope....not at all!

So...BACK to Weight Watchers I go! AGAIN! It just seems to me that once you lose the weight, it should stay gone!! But, that is not the case...

So, once again, I am counting points, which I don't think I get NEAR enough of, let me tell you! It is 1:30 p.m., I get 21 points a day...guess how many I have left???? 10! Yep, 10!

That's not enough! Not near enough!

But I am motivated. All I have to do is turn around if my resolve starts to fade and I instantly RE-motivate!! Dear Lord!
So....15 lbs to lose....really I would prefer 20....I am keeping my goal "real" however, and setting it for 15...aaack!!

Poor Steve....when he met me I was a skinny minnie! Not necessarily by choice mind you. You know how it is when you go through a really bad divorce and you aren't dieting, you just CAN'T eat! So pounds just drop off before your very eyes!

I did warn him that that size was NOT normal for me! I am a big boned gal! Yeah, that's it! It's my BONES that weigh so much! Dense little hummers!

That butt bone there? She's a doozie!

  1. I think you look lovely!!! I can just tell you are perfect the way you are!!! I think I need to go to WW and stay there until I lose some weight, it is an ongoing battle, the older I get the longer it's going to take.
I enjoyed reading your post, yeah, never enough points!!

  2. Oh Lou Cinda I feel your pain!!! (She said while laughing at your great post!) I have been off and on with diets almost my whole life. Up 10 down 10. It's a vicious circle. I hate it. I love to eat and I hate to exercise. I'm at least 10 lbs heavier that I want to be right now. Actually I'd love to be 20 less, but let's be real! I actually went out and bought several pairs of jean one size up from my usual size 10!!! I didn't want to but I just could not stand being uncomfortable while I try to get this extra booty off! Besides, I think when you feel good in your clothes it's easier to stay focused on healthy food. I'll be cheering you on, and hopefully getting myself on track too!

  3. LOL, Lou Cynda! I know from whence you are talking. But let me assure you that you are beautiful, and I'm sure Steve feels the same. Men like women with some "meat on their bones." I lost so much that Mr. Magpie wanted me to gain some back... only problem is, I gained it ALL back! LOL! Now, I'm on a restricted diet, but the weight is not coming off as fast. Alas... I hear your cry!

    Love to you...

    Sheila :-)

  4. I too feel your pain!!! I need to drop a good 30 lbs. I do own a scale and unfortunately I have been on it recently and it wasn't pretty. My problem is motivation....I know it is in my best interest to lose some weight but I just can't seem to get motivated. Good luck with WW.

  5. I REALLY feel your pain! I lost 60lbs this summer, and in 2 weeks have found about 15!!! :( I am back at as well!! Good luck!

  6. That was halarious! I can so relate... I was 10 pounds thinner in my hippie picture I posted today. I can't do the point thing, of course blogging isn't doing anything but slimming my typing fingers. I will be joining you after my birthday.

  7. Oh Lou Cinda,
Thanks for leaving a comment and you are still down right gorgous!

  8. Hey, Lou Cinda, so nice to meet you on Sat.! Thanks for taking the time to stop by. And so sorry I got your name wrong on my post, I'm going to fix it now. It just dawned on me! You are a pretty lady, so don't be too hard on yourself. Good luck with the diet. :)

  9. Your blog entry today made me laugh right out loud. I'm right there with you. Hate to excerise = love to eat. The life story of women my husband says.

  10. I love a post where people are honest about their diet woes. I think we can all commiserate together! I hate exercizing and I am honest enough to say that the older my kids got, the lazier I got. It is going to be a rough ride. How did you like Weight Watchers and the meetings. I finally got the nerve to go one day recently and they were closed!!! Only open at meeting times. My luck... And now with all the holidays and sweets, I feel defeated. I spent the first 32 years of my life a size 5 (I am very small boned) and other than 3 years on the Atkins, I haven't seen that wonderful number in a long time.

Let us know how you do. I need the inspiration!

  11. I'll trade you a couple of chins for a butt!

  12. Girl you and I are in the same category! We could have a pity party. I am in the 21 point group too. It's not very many! I guess it means we don't have a ton to lose but still it's hard. It's the my butt is getting too big for my britches syndrome. Man!

  13. Oh YUCK!!! Dieting is terrible...I hate it!!! I guess it is just one of those thing we all are faced with every now and then!!!

    Good luck!!!

  14. Lou Cinda-I wish you the best of luck with your diet...I'm always on a diet...I never had a problem until about 4 years ago...just can't get it off...but I'm still working on it.

  15. You go girl...I relate so well to your story.
    After a divorce~skinny Minnie...Happily remarried 8 extra 15-20 lbs.

I kept my goal real too..15 instead of 20. Going into my 3rd week of weight Watchers online.

I lost over 5lbs last 2 weeks I have lost a total of over 8 lbs.

A group of bloggers participate in Weight loss Wed. and it got me off this down hill spiral. I was the heaviest..I have been besides being pregnant.

Weight Watchers really works if you stick to the plan....when we go back to our bad habits...we all regain.

Wishing you the can do it!!!!

  16. Had to come back and laugh about the pts...I only get 19 and when I lost so much this week it recalculated my pts and NOW I only get 18!!!!

  17. So you have dense bones, huh? Well, in addition to MY dense bones, my ROLLS must weigh a doozie! Why oh why did I have to hit the "M" word? hormones... ouch!

  18. Love this post and can also relate. I was going to put on some "winter" clothes the other day and couldn't believe I couldn't button the pants! Woe is me.

  19. Sign me up for diet torture too! Funny, I just went to the library yesterday and checked out a couple of diet books. I've been on most of them, but apparantly there are some new ones I haven't tried yet, hoping one of these lets me have pizza and buttered popcorn....LOL

  20. Oh arte beautiful! I know you can loose the weight...but you know you are gorgeous no matter what!

  21. Just found your blog & your diet post is hilarious! I KNOW I need to lose more than 20!!! argh. Been trying to lose it since my last baby (um she's 9 1/2 now...................................)

It's on the "to do" list!

  22. Girl, I'm right there with you! I've actually been thinking about WW lately...let us know how it goes!

  23. Your too funny, wish you lots of luck with your diet,I am just the oppisite can't gain weight to save my soul....I am sure your lovely just the way you are!! All the best,Chrissy

  24. Oh Lou Cinda, I feel your pain! It's funny, Artie (color outside the lines) and I both started a diet today, too! We'll suffer together for the common good. haha. I laughed outloud when you you mentioned you looked behind you and asked who's is that? hahaha.
Here's to us and smaller things behind us.=)
    xo isa

  25. Lou Cinda, you are so funny. I could stand to lose about 10, but I just hate to diet. Plus I'm only 5' tall, so it makes it really hard. It's probably not happening.

  26. Oh, Lou Cinda honey, you're so funny! First of all, you are just so beautiful! Good luck with your WW. I've done that and it does work, but alas, I'm not good to keep up the good work! My excuse is, I'm just so darned short! Yep! If I could grow taller - my figure would be so much nicer! :)
    Be a sweetie,
    shelia ;)

  27. Ah I feel your pain! I've been dieting my entire life. One thing I love about blogs is none of us cares who's skinny or not. :o) I need to lose upwards of 50, but I don't think it's ever gonna happen. I'd like to be more HEALTHY, but I've given up on looking cute...*grin*

  28. Twin wants to lose some weight because she weighs a few pounds more than me but she isn't big. She is so mad because she is eating less~ turning down cake, ice cream and all goodies and still not losing a pound! I don't need to lose any weight but I need to tone BIG TIME. We have a treadmill and I need to get on it. So far I'm doing 2 miles during The Biggest Loser on Tuesday night and that is it. I hate to exercise. I'm hoping to do better.

  29. Ha hee! Yeah, I have a similar butt bone. Sending lightweight thoughts your way. :)

  30. Good luck! Your blog post made me smile, then laugh...I think we all can relate to the diet woes. Great blog post.

  31. Hang in there girlfriend! Diets are very hard...but try not to deprive yourself too much! Thanks for stopping by today. And I can't wait to see what you've got for Frugalicious Friday!

  32. I think I'm going back to WW too! I just got a coupon in the mail for free registration! I figure that must be a sign!

Ahh...the divorce diet! I remember that..the fat just melted off!

  38. Thanks for visiting! And remember it took me almost TWO years to find a rug like that. I just wasn't going to buy one that I wasn't crazy about. OR...that I couldn't pay cash for.
Anyhow....GOOD LUCK on your diet. You can DO it!!
You did it before, you can do it again. Be strong, and never give in or give up! I love that term, gonna steal it. "Heavy-bones - Dense little hummers!" yeah.
And we are both mega-blessed to have talented hubbies. Now if I can just get mine motivated to do as much as he used to when we were younger. (He did just get through putting down hardwoods for my daughter in her room.) :-)
    Have a great day.

  39. Thanks so much for the comment and for stopping by my blog. I appreciate it! Can't wait to see your variation of it too!

  40. Believe me, I know that extra weight is serious business...but I am laughing my head off. I love it - what is that and whose is it!!!!

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in May. My addiction to sugar has been hard to control. I'm telling ya it's a real addiction! Anyway, I have lost 20 pounds and am happy to report that sugar levels are good. But, if we are talking about "looking good" weight, I have 30 more to go!!! And it's the holidays.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! It means so much to me and please come again :)
