Okay, let me start by saying I haven’t done one thing to this bathroom since we moved in this house 5 years ago….not. ONE.thing….suffice to say this is the bathroom that Seth and Cameron use…..it is a large-ish bathroom, with A LOT of white tile….now I was not up to tearing out tile…been there….done that….have the scars to prove it….I decided to work with the white….white is easy….
Now, we all know by now that I am NOT so good at taking before photos….howevah, I did manage to snap some in the preparing to paint mode….this minty green color is just absolutely hideous….I hate it!
the before…..with spackle and various and sundry necessary tools strewn about….
little, ugly vanity…..(it used to be white too….I did paint this when we moved in)
the lone obligatory accessory….
ugly light fixture…..
we had already taken down the massive mirror that was on the wall… no breakage I am happy to report….
Now, this entire deal started with this fabric, which is not at all what I had in mind when I went looking for fabric to make a shower curtain and window treatments….yeah, you heard me…I MADE them….
LOVED this the second I saw it….Sharon found me the fabulous perfect trim….she’s good like that…
this vanity I found at a consignment shop…it came with the granite top, undermount sink and oil rubbed bronze faucet….got it for $250.00….I thought that was a GREAT deal!
my faux roman shade…
the two “missing tiles” is where the toothbrush holder and soap dish were….we have the tiles but have not replaced them yet…
the chamber pot I got at the 100 mile yard sale with a pony tail fern in it….
new light fixture and mirror…
the walls are painted “Down Home” by Sherwin Williams…
prints are in route…. ;)
So what do you think? I still have to tweak a bit, get some towels and stuff…
Before…
After….
Steve did all installations and removal of vanities, mirrors, light fixtures and plumbing…and well you know….plumbing can be a biotch! But he was successful……thank you sweetie :)
before….
after….
Thank you so much for stopping by!

This just made my night. You did a super job, Lou Cinda. A lot of hard work, but it sure paid off. How do you do these thing? You put us all to shame... painting, sewing, upholstering. I'm SO jealous! And the bath is just neat-o mosquito. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou are NOT going to believe this. Mr. Magpie now has (are you ready for this?)... SHINGLES. I just sat down and cried today. But God is always good and will see us through this, too.
This brightened my day, and I'm always up for a visit with you.
XO,
Sheila

ReplyDeletePS- I'm lovin the empty frames on the wall! Martina
ReplyDeleteNice job and what a steal on the vanity!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love the print above the towel bar. Seems like an unexpected place to place a print. Such a nice surprise.
ReplyDeleteCome do my little powder room please?!!
Much prettier. The room has life now. I like the rich colors.
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic makeover of the bathroom...it is gorgeous, Lou Cinda!
ReplyDeleteSo lively! I love the changes, especially the vanity area. We purchased a similar one on clearance at Lowe's a few years back and I found a gorgeous mirror at Ross and hung similar lighting on top just as you've done here. Love the monogrammed lamp. Second one I see today. I think I'll be a copycat. ;)
ReplyDeleteMuch love!
Wow! What a huge difference color makes in this room. The vanity is wonderful. Steve did a great job on his installing. Everything looks so pretty. As I have told you before the pictures really don't do your work justice. It is so much prettier than it shows on the pictures. So what is our next adventure project?
ReplyDeleteI love that paint color! And you did a fabulous job on the sewing projects as usual. Love that fabric too! Seeing how great that looks "almost" makes me want to do some decorating. ;)
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda- Your bathroom is looking might fine, girl!! Love the fabric choices (who doesn't like gingham?) Great deal on the vanity, of course. Gotta love a good price! And what a great "pot" to place your fern in! LOL
ReplyDeletehugs, Sue

What a transformation!
