Vintage Marketplace~Nashville

Sharon and I headed out last Thursday afternoon bound for Nashville, home of Country Music and the Vintage Market…We had been planning to go to this event since we first learned of it months ago…and lucky me won 2 tickets from the most awesome Theresa at Time Worn Interiors.  Her booth was total eye candy!  Beautiful!

Pictures?  You want pictures?  Well, I got a little story about that….we got into the door of the show, I whip out my new and improved camera with the 30x zoom…bring it up to eye level…turn it on….and BAM!  Dead batteries!  I could have seriously bawled my eyes out!  So you will just have to visit Theresa’s blog and see the photos she took!  It was truly a great show!

We saw Molly of Barn Trash who we met at The Country Living Fair in Atlanta.  She is just awesome!  A hoot!  Loved seeing her and her sweet husband and their adorable baby girl…I borrowed these photos of their awesome talent from their facebook page…

We met Sue Whitney of Junk Market Style fame, and she was also totally awesome!  SO NICE!!!  I had one of her books, and bought the other one….love her!  Love her books!  She is brilliant!

After we left the Vintage Marketplace we decide to go to Franklin, TN, which if you have never been, is AWESOME as well!  It was 40 minutes from where we were to where we were going and thank God for the TomTom.  Sharon was telling me where to be and what lane to be in and when to turn and it was a zillion lanes of traffic and we were all going 100 mph with lanes merging in on all sides.  I was a HOT mess!  Some guy in a Nissan was trying to merge over and I had nowhere to go and he was MOST distressed with me!  After he got over  I could just see his mouth going in his side mirror…I started laughing and he gave us the bird!  Like, not a small bird…not a little flip off….noooooooo…  He stuck his arm out the window and up in the air as far as he could and gave us a big old gesture!  I laughed harder and he shot us another one!  Sharon looked at me and said, “I don’t think anyone has ever shot me a bird before on the highway.”  I said, “Really???  Happens to me all the time"!” LOL

We did make it to Franklin unscathed and had a blast there.  There are blocks and blocks of wonderful shops!  We are planning a trip back there because we did not get to see a fraction of what we wanted to.

A few shots of some things I got….you know me and the “smalls”….

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. I am glad y'all are safe, but you had me cracking up! I personally know the whole arm 'big bird' gesture very well! I seem to end up in the middle of road rage caravans every time I go anywhere! One guy yelled at me..."you shouldn't be allowed to drive - you need to ride a mule"!!! I was like you, I could not stop laughing - which added fuel to the fire so I had to speed off for safety!
I know you had so much fun on the trip.

  2. Next time I am on the highway, I will be sure to look for you:) You sure do keep me laughing (Rhonda too)! Now, I am really sad that I didn't set up at the show, I was sent all the info about it and was hoping to do it, but Mr.CC was way to busy with work and I can't do a show without his help. Franklin is so one of my favorite little towns...LOVE IT!!!! I really wish that I lived closer to it.

    Blessings,
    Linda

  3. Girl, you ARE a hot mess! : ) If you drive like you wrote this blog post, I can believe you were all over the place on that road! LOL! It sounds like you had a great time, "bird" and all. Love those dominoes you got! Those will fit in great with lots of vignettes. I am so glad you are enjoying the bunnies. I've found spots for a few of them, but I'm trying not to go overboard!

  6. LouCinda,
For goodness sake. . .I'm glad you survived the highway, dear friend! Your driving skills and mine are somewhat the same. One exception...I don't laugh. I scream in fright!!! The first time someone rides with me I say, "Strap yourself in and pray, because I'm the WORST driver in the world." You should see their face! Mine looks worse! Ha!
I can't believe you were in Franklin,TN!!! My pen pal from Chicago recently moved there! I mailed her a Valentine Card and penned letter this evening!
Do drive carefully now and in the future, dear friend. You are such a blessing in my life!
    Fondly,
    Pat
P.S. Some "great finds" in your photos!

Your vignettes are always so beautiful.

    Love ya,

Next time...I'm calling shotgun. Hmmm...maybe even carry one for a little "bird" hunting. Did I just say that out loud?

  13. Hi,
I just found your blog. I live outside of Nashville, I am so sorry you had some jerk giving you grief, although you handled it better than I would. The interstates around Nashville are wild. Wasn't the shows great I can't wait to next fall when they are back.

  31. Lou Cinda that sounds like a blast! Antiquin' road trip with the girls!...Doesn't get much better *winks* I love all your finds and I too have received the "birdie" many a time. I just wave and smile at them. It's almost impossible to drive in my state without angering someone because the traffic is SO bleepin' BAD. Oh and the battery going dead is also sooo me *sighs* Sometimes I swear I'm just not meant to take pictures anywhere because something always seem to go wrong. Oh and those little Fitz & Floyd bunnies are darling! How sweet of your friend! Vanna
