It Has Begun…

Christmas decorating!  I must admit, I have been a little slow getting the old juices flowing this year….I have, however begun and hopefully by the end of the weekend will have the brunt of it done.  I am scaling back somewhat this year…..I love silver candlesticks and white candles…

I found all three of these at thrift shops….

I won this Santa last year from Margaret at The French Bear…she MADE him!  I so LOVE him!!  He has white glitter on him and I am a confessed glitter FREAK!!

Look at that face!!

He even has a bottle brush tree and I LOVE bottle brush trees!  Isn’t he beautiful??

I made this wreath this year….

I still have some tweaking to do….add some snow on the silver platter and greenery on the table, but at least I can say I have gotten started!

Thank you for stopping by!

Kisses :)

  7. That looks really pretty so far, Lou Cinda! I like the simplicity of the candlesticks on the tray with a few ornaments. I think a little faux snow on there will look good too. I'll be doing a lot of ornaments scattered about myself this year - apothecary jars, cloches, bowls, trays. Thankfully, the dollar store carries some decent ornaments! I don't start until Thanksgiving night or the Friday though.

  9. Just lovely Lou Cinda!

I am scaling back too this year since our house is on the market and I am sure the realtor probably doesn't want too many decorations out. I am going to start a wee bit of decorating this weekend.

  13. I have been in Hobby Lobby almost every day for the past week. I can't seem to get what I need and when I go in there I find new stuff. Imagine that. Anyway I cleaned them out on a specific style of snowflake ornaments that I am using to make my tree topper this year. First time to do that, usually I have an angel on the top, but the boys requested a change. Love the wreath. I was kinds on the fence about the read and lime green that is so in this year but your wreath looks wonderful!!!

  17. Hi Lou Cinda....

Oh my gosh... you are such a dear and sweet chickie. I LOVE your little messages....and they always brighten my day. :-)

Now, that Santa... he is GLORIOUS! What a treasure. I've seen some of the things that Margaret has made....she is AMAZING! What an artist....AND a generous blogger.

I am sooo impressed..... I have no Christmas things out yet. I feel like I'm way behind the season here in Bloggyville. I usually start the day after Thanksgiving.... and that's coming right up, isn't it?

    Big hugs dear girlie!

  31. Oh, I love your little Santa! I have a collection of little Santas too that I hang on the tree. Love how you hung the wreath on the mirror. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house!

  32. I have been reading your blog for a year now. You have a wonderful since of humor and I love your style. How do you get your wreaths to hang on mirrors (it looks like they hang in mid-air!) Also, how do you convince hubby that is is OK to paint wood colors. My husband has a fit if I want to paint REAL WOOD *he says*. I want to paint some of my dark pieces white. Do you always decorate so early in November or just this year? I know, alot of questions.....just curious.......Merry Christmas to you.:)

  33. Dear Anonymous, I wish I had your email address and I would have sent you an answer. Thank you so much for your sweet compliments! To hang my wreath on the mirror I use those 3M hooks that you can get at Lowes, Wal-Mart. etc. You peel the back off and stick them to the glass. When you want to remove it you just pull the tab and it releases...easy as pie! My husband is a very laid back kind of guy and pretty much lets me do whatever I want. My father was the "don't paint the wood type" so I know what you mean! If they "saw" it painted, they would like it better....show him pictures! lol I do decorate this early because I want to get DONE and then I can relax (yeah right!) and enjoy the holidays! Hope you have a Wonderful Christmas too!!
