A Few New Things…

I went Saturday to a shop I love in Attalla, AL called Blossom Antiques.  I really need to take some pictures of her shop and post them on here because it is the CUTEST shop.  She displays everything so beautifully and I just love going.  PLUS Saturday everything was 30% off so that is an added bonus!

I got the little red chair and dog…so CUTE!!

The chair was like $6 and the dog $4.95 with 30% off of that…there is NO WAY I could turn that down right??

Here are the brackets I got in Chattanooga at Dwelling.  Steve put them up for me….I painted them black…hated it….painted them white again!  Go figure…but I do love them…

Here’s the other one on the other side…I thought this was a pretty picture with the sun streaming in through the kitchen window….also got the topiary in Chattanooga and the little cork screw at Knitting Mill Antique Mall.

Hope you have a great week and thank you so much for stopping by!

Kisses :)

  9. The brackets are great, Lou Cinda! I love them in the white. Sometimes we have to try another color to see what it looks like. I have a berry pink color in a spray paint that I kept looking at last time I went to Home Depot for paint. I couldn't take my eyes off it and finally I just grabbed one and put it in my basket. I'm dying to try it out on something. Although, it does look so out of place on my paint shelf with the Heirloom White, black and Oil Rubbed Bronze cans!

Love that mini adirondack chair! I love full size versions of them and I loved the two I had at one time.

  19. Hi, Lucinda, thanks for stopping by to say hello! I love your little brackets those are so cute & your front door is just gorgeous. I would love a front door like that!

I'm sorta bummed that I'm not going to the longest yardsale this weekend. Are you going? I bet you'll be out looking around in your town, huh? It is just so hot that I know it's going to be miserable & I really never found all that much, so I guess I'll stay home.

  21. Hi Lou Cinda,
Jan took me to Blossoms last time I was home and they have such good things and very reasonably priced, I thought. I bought an old flour sack there.

Okay this is a catch up comment.
Love the iron brackets in the kitchen, love the front door numbers, it looks great, hate that you lost your side mirror, loved your son's reply!!!
Oh yeah, I want to go to Chattanooga now!

About the island - I always use a plain glaze(aqua products from the faux store I worked at, but Benj Moore has a good one too)
that I mix paint or acrylic color with (little 2 oz. bottles from WM or HL/ or latex interior house paint.) I would paint a poster board the color of your island and tape it into several sections and test several things. A dark gray might look nice, or a cool dark brown tone (like the background of your blog)
