And my heart is breaking…..
Bella is a roamer….she does not like to stay in the house all the time, but she comes in and out all day long….Saturday night I let her out at about 8:00 and went back to call her in about an hour later….and couldn’t find her….if you have pets that are like members of your family, then you understand what I, along with the rest of my family are feeling….it is horrible! I looked for her all day long yesterday….ALL DAY LONG! I tromped through the woods and the neighborhood and the shrubbery….I looked for her in the rain, I was in my neighbors back yards and front yards….driving through the neighborhood….calling for my Bella…
If you have been reading my blog, you know that my son Cameron found Bella when she was 4 weeks old in the street, sick and dying…he picked her up and took her to the vet where it was discovered that she was dehydrated, had an upper respiratory infection and covered in fleas….she lay in a shoe box for three days….we hand fed her and gave her medicine and then on the 4th day she opened her eyes….blue eyes….and she was in our hearts…..Her personality is larger than life…she always makes us laugh…she came into a house with three other OLD cats and she just insisted that they accept her….and they did…
And today our hearts are broken….I have cried and cried and cried…because you see…I am the one who let her out, so I blame myself….
We have taken out an ad in the paper and printed flyers in an effort to find her…please, if you have a moment, please say a prayer for me….I would so appreciate it….
I hope she comes back. She might - you know cats...sometimes they are gone for awhile before they grace you with their presence again. I understand how you feel and will be thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI know how stressful and heartbreaking it is when a beloved pet goes missing. I have already said a prayer and will continue to pray for Bella's safety and return.

ReplyDeleteOh poor baby...I know that feeling. I hope she comes back.
ReplyDeleteWe had one cat that disappeared for almost 2 months and when she finally came back..she was scared of us..and hesitant to come to us as if she didn't recognize us. (another one disappeared for almost 4 weeks and he never did that before...he finally came home dragging his broken back leg..but he made it..and survive but it was tough..)
For that reason, all other cats we have stay IN doors. I do not feel bad for them any more because I know whats out there..We have wide window sills so they can watch the goings on outside, but they are inside cats.
BONUS!...less vet bills!! They even need less shots.
I Hope she comes home...
Oh, Lu Cinda! I'm so sorry! I feel your heart break and I pray your darling Bella will come home.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Shelia ;)

I feel so sad for you...it is so hard to lose a kitty, but has to be worse when they just go out and don't return. I hope she turns up unharmed and was just visiting with a friend.
ReplyDeleteOh Lou Cinda! Please don't beat yourself up over this. You had no idea and just did what you normally would. Let's just hope she's been hanging out with the wrong crowd for a couple of days and will be outside your door tonight meowing to come in. I will be praying for her safe return and hugs to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry! Hope she comes home soon!

Oh Lou Cinda,
ReplyDeleteI am SO sorry to hear this! I am praying that she will show up in perfect shape! We plan on moving soon hopefully out in the country and I just told my husband today that it would be nice to let our kitties out once in a while. Well, I've changed my mind. Kitties are so independant aren't they? And curious. Your Bella is beautiful and my heart breaks for you, dear.
Lots of prayers,
Sonya
I am praying for you, nothing worse than losing a member of your family :( I am hoping for the best outcome!
ReplyDeleteYes, I can say I've been there. My heart is sad. I pray she comes home. Truly.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry! I have 2 cats and a dog so I do know how you feel. Praying a very safe return for Bella. She is a beautiful cat. Hopefully she is just visiting and will be back soon.
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda I feel your pain. I had a cat many years ago that I thought was gone for good. He was missing for two weeks and I cried and cried. One day I was out standing on the deck of our first house and was missing him when I heard a faint meow. I heard it again and I called his name. Max? He cried again and I started following the sound. He was two houses over way up in a tree of a fenced yard over two big dogs. I was thrilled to find him and asked the neighbors if they wouldn't mind putting their dogs somewhere so we could coax Max down. I even called the fire dept. to find out they don't get cats out of trees. I guess all the movies are not real. I called the vet and he said to put a bowl of food at the bottom of the tree and he should come down. We waited and he would not come down. The neighbors were kind enough to keep their dogs in the basement over night. The next day I stood outside and called Max and then there he was coming around our fence. He was so thin and dehydrated, but home. I sure hope your Bella is just trapped up a tree and that you get your happy ending, too!!
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for bella to come home.

Oh Lou Cinda, I am so sorry she is gone! I understand and can feel your heartbreak. I am sending you prayers for her safe return! Keep us posted.~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteLouCinda...my heart is crying with yours. You have my prayers over and over. Keep believing she'll come home.
ReplyDeleteAre there any apartments, etc. in the area. My daughter's little dog got out and was gone for 3 days until someone saw her flyer and brought him home. Seems he had wandered into an apt. complex and a sweet family had taken him in thinking him a stray. They wouldn't even accept a reward. I pray someone sees your flyers as well...in a hurry. I know you are hurting so much. And yes...I do understand. Jakie was the dog of my heart and not a day goes by I don't miss him.
XOXO
Deb
Oh Lou Cinda I was sooo happy to hear from you! But I'm praying so hard that your beautiful Bella will come home!! My heart is breaking for you!. Yes I know exactly how important our furbabies can be Please don't feel guilty, if it hadn't been you letting her out it would've just been someone else, and the result would probably be the same. Got my hands clasped together for you my friend. Vanna
ReplyDeleteOh Lou Cinda I feel your pain and I pray your beautiful Bella returns home!! Martina
ReplyDeleteOk, I have had cats do this... out of the blue...disappear for like 3 days... and you go crazy, and think the worst, and the next thing you know, there they are. I wouldn't be surprised if she shows up... i'm so sorry that you're so distressed... don't give up on her yet...
ReplyDeleteCindy

Sometimes they are gone a while....so I will be saying a prayer for you and Bella. I truly know what you are feeling, hang in there!
ReplyDelete(((hugs to you))))
I am so sorry. I have three cats and I understand your loss. You will certainly be in my prayers. I am praying for Bella's safe return to her home. B.B. from coastal-colors.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI am praying that Bella returns safely and quickly. My heart goes out to you as all my pets are family and I love them dearly. I can't imagine your heartbreak but so, so, so hope she returns very, very soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no - Bella will surely show up just like our Rosie did! She spent a couple of nights out when she was 12 and we were all crying and had pretty much given her up. I was up early in the kitchen and I heard a little scratch at the back door, just like she did when she was ready to come back inside. I couldn't get to the door fast enough. She was filthy and covered in burrs and shaking, but she was back. I cried even harder and starting yelling and woke everyone up. Of course the kids were delighted. We always joked that she had been out partying! I sure hope that Bella is just out partying with the neighborhood animals.
ReplyDeleteSaying a prayer for you.
Rhonda
Praying you find Bella. I remember reading about when Cameron found her and how she stole your heart from that very first moment. Keep your chin up my friend!!
ReplyDeleteI pray that Bella comes home soon! Our furry babies are inside only but every now and then they get out but it has been awhile. Once we searched high and low for our Sophie. She use to be super snaky abt getting outside but she never left the yard. That night we found her on the back porch chilling in the chair. Our youngest Max got out and we hunted all night and day and even made posters that we hung. I ended up looking in the neighbors back yard again and he was hiding in their bushes! It is such a horrible feeling and I am so sorry you are going thru this!
ReplyDeleteOh Lou Cinda! Prayers that you find her!
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda......No! This makes me sick. Honestly when stuff likes this happen I can barely think of anything else. Please...I hope you find her. Sherry
ReplyDeleteI'm sending warm wishes your way for your Bella's return. Only recently my little guy (I have 3 cats and 3 dogs), Malcolm, was out for more than 3 nights. We have owls, foxes, sometimes coyotes and copperheads out my way (VA), so I worried. Malcolm, like your Bella, had been found on the brink of death as a kitten. Thankfully, he arrived on day 4. But sometimes they do not arrive--and for those terrible "sometimes" we need our friends--virtual and otherwise.
ReplyDeleteP. S. I was reading your painted countertops post when I hit the main view to see this sorrowful post.
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda, my heart knows what this is like. I will pray for Bella's safe return to you and your family. I'm sure she is out just "catting" around enjoying a bit of freedom! Keep the faith, the power of prayer is amazing.
ReplyDeleteHugz,
Kim
Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll say a prayer for her return......or have you found her yet? Hope so.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the sweet comments on my blog.
Oh, I'm so, so sorry! I'm crying after reading your post, just hoping so much that she has found her way home by now.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't at all your fault. Not at all.
Ugh. I know that sick feeling all too well. They really fill our hearts don't they? I have a feeling she will be back. I know it's scary for you, but she is probably having an adventure and you will hear her at the door one of these days.
