And then the Snow came….

We had predictions of snow for Christmas….”measurable” snow…we never get snow down here….rarely EVER…so I was skeptical to say the least…hopeful but skeptical….

I woke up Christmas morning and looked outside and saw nothing…brown grass….nothing on the deck…and then…

I blinked….

The snow had begun….and it snowed ALL DAY LONG!  It was gorgeous!!

This was my deck in less than an hour…

 

Soooooo pretty!  Our first White Christmas in Alabama….EVER!!

 

We had to make the journey to Jamie’s house for Christmas dinner and we live up on the mountain….so we had to go down the mountain….

We took Steve’s truck, 4-wheel drive…but I was still nervous….Seth said I was getting on his nerves because I kept freaking out….I told him…”I’m the mother, it is my prerogative to freak you out!”

Elizabeth, Evan, Aubrey, Malory and Cameron…are those girls not simply GORGEOUS?  And the guys?  Well of course they are handsome as all get out!

I love this one of them….Aubrey is catching snowflakes on her tongue…

Their BIG snowman!!  Malory and Elizabeth’s sweet grandfather has come to get in on the action…

As you can see….we take FULL advantage of the snow when we get it…it doesn’t last long, which is fine by me, but I love it for the brief period it is here….

I will leave you with a photo of Cameron and Malory before her Christmas dance….Love these kids…Cameron is not wearing his tie yet…he and I didn’t know how to tie it…Evan watched a You-tube video on “how to tie a tie” and we gotter done….it would NOT hurt my feelings however, if Cameron shaved that “stuff” off of his chin…

Again…just sayin’…

Malory and Elizabeth…they are first cousins….Elizabeth’s mother, Janice, is one of my dearest friends…I have known these girls their whole lives…they are not only beautiful, they are sweet, and funny and smart and athletic….

and now my Cammie Pie loves Malory….

I am blessed….

I was about to cry….I don’t like it that he is this big…I wish he was 5 again….and I don’t know WHEN he got taller than me….

The Final Leg…

My Tree…

These are some pictures of my Christmas Tree…it is VERY traditional with all manner of whatever on it…sadly, I don’t have 10 foot ceilings, so I can only accommodate a 7’ tree, but it makes us happy!

There is that flippin’ cord again!  I REALLY have fixed that now…

Sharon’s Tree

My dear friend Sharon had a “girls” get together Friday night and we got to see her gorgeous Christmas decorations!  They were stunning!!  Her main tree in the den just took my breath away!  It was just so beautiful!  It has not been without issues however, getting that beauty decorated!  You know the drill, put the “pre-lit” tree together and half of the lights aren’t working…fiddle with the lights, still not working….play with each individual bulb….nope!  SO!  She bought more lights, put them on the tree and she was off!  Here are the gorgeous results of her labors…

Mostly reds and golds….gorgeous! 

Look at these bows!!  She made them out of that meshy ribbon….

Her mantel is just as stunning!

You cannot appreciate the “glitter” factor…..it’s HUGE!

LOVE it!!

And just an FYI, the 3M hooks did not work for her either!

The Mantel….

My mantel is long, I mean REALLY LONG!!  It is a challenge to me every time I decorate said mantel…I can’t let anything hang over too far, because we use our fireplace and it would melt “overhangage”…

That being said, the following is what I have been able to create for this Christmas Season…

Oh look!  A cord!!  I despise those!!!  It is fixed now…

Winter has finally arrived down here in the South…we have not gotten out of the 30’s this week and snow flurries are predicted for this weekend!  Okay, I am ready for summer now!
