It Continues…

I was finally able to work on the Christmas decorating this weekend and thought I would share a little of what I have accomplished thus far in the dining room…

The buffet…of course my rabbit is in attendance…

I am a lover of the bottle brush tree…

and birds…

And glitter…..MAINLY I LOVE GLITTER!

I am saving the rest  for another post!  I tend to show everything in one post and then I got nothing for the next two weeks!  I am learning….teasers are good!

It Has Begun…

Christmas decorating!  I must admit, I have been a little slow getting the old juices flowing this year….I have, however begun and hopefully by the end of the weekend will have the brunt of it done.  I am scaling back somewhat this year…..I love silver candlesticks and white candles…

I found all three of these at thrift shops….

I won this Santa last year from Margaret at The French Bear…she MADE him!  I so LOVE him!!  He has white glitter on him and I am a confessed glitter FREAK!!

Look at that face!!

He even has a bottle brush tree and I LOVE bottle brush trees!  Isn’t he beautiful??

I made this wreath this year….

 

I still have some tweaking to do….add some snow on the silver platter and greenery on the table, but at least I can say I have gotten started!

Ramblings and a Little Griping….

Do you ever feel a little  “slighted” when you visit certain blogs over and over, and they are the bigger ones, and you always leave a comment or sometimes ask a question and NEVER get a response?  Does that happen to anyone else?  I mean some of the MEGA bloggers with over a 1,000 followers, I can understand….but there are those that you just wonder….WHAT IS THE DEAL??  I mean I ALWAYS try to answer comments that are left for me and I appreciate them so much….and I do realize that it’s not like I get a 100 a day or anything….but you know if I WAS a mega blogger, I think that if someone faithfully left me a comment often, I would notice, and mix it up a bit and send one back every once in a while!  Just to say thanks, or I got the wreath at so and so…you know something simple…a one liner…I ain’t picky!  Am I being petty?  I don’t mean to be….just fussin’ and venting just a tad….

On another note…..I miss my mom….I miss her alot….the holidays are coming and it has never been the same since she passed away 5 years ago….she was SO talented….She painted this…

I think it is amazing…..this picture hangs in Cameron’s room…

My mother was hilarious and so much fun….she would just fuss me out about something and I would say, “why are you fussing at me for?”  She would reply, “Cos’ you always fuss at the one you love the most.”  To which I would say, “Well, could you love me a little less?”  She always thought that was so funny….

I love you mom….to the moon and back…a million times….

Another Morph…

I really loved this sofa when I found it a little over a year ago….but, as most of you probably know by now, I am a LITTLE OCD!  Just a tad….

And this sofa has a light background…add to that three men and four cats = one nut crazed lint brushing female!

SO!  I sold this sofa to my girlfriend Jamie….looks lovely in her den…..oh and notice the black coffee table….I got it for $20.00…it was oak, painted it black…

SO…back to the old sofa that I had…I know…it is the elephant in the room….and I painted the coffee table cream…this is the only photo I could find…

Now this…new sofa….coffee table is now red….

I made the pillows out of the ottoman fabric and still have one more to make for the chair…this sofa is bigger and much more family and cat friendly…

I spray painted the table Heritage Red and then wiped on an onyx stain diluted with some glaze…then I wiped it back off…

See the secretary thingy back behind the sofa?  Yeah, I think I need to paint that!  What do you think?

I think I might need therapy!!  Just sayin’
