WAR EAGLE!!!

Where have I been??? Well...I have been very busy AND the last two weekends we have gone to Auburn to watch the game!! This past weekend, Auburn v. West Virginia...that game was the BOMB!! Now keep in mind it has been raining down here in the South....ALOT!!! Like 5 and 6 inches of rain a day!!! I am a true Southern girl, and I DO NOT like to get wet!

So we head out Saturday morning at 8:30 (yes, 8:30, that is VERY early! Game at 6:00, 2 hour drive) But we were meeting my friend Jamie's son for lunch. He attends Auburn University! Lucky Dog!

It is NOT a pretty day. It is cloudy, it is ugly, it is rainy!! So...Steve and I don't have tickets yet, and I have already started pondering the fact, that if it is raining, I ain't gonna buy tickets to go sit in the rain. I will watch it on television in a restaurant or something.

SO, the day progresses, and it is still rainy! My hair promptly falls flat as a pancake and is just very attractive. But we plod on. We go eat, we do a little shopping and Jamie has started to share with me that she doesn't want to go to the game either....so, she is trying to figure out how to break it to Wayne cos' they have season tickets! She finally tells him, about an hour before the game and he ain't so happy. So we throw Steve into the mix and tell Wayne Steve will go with him! Yeah, that's a great idea!! Steve loves football and it does not matter WHO is playing! He will watch it!! Now, Steve is an Alabama fan, but for the last two weekends, he has gone to Auburn! Poor Baby!

So we send them to the game and we are headed to Moe's to watch it on tv with some other friends, who also didn't want to sit in the rain. We are walking back toward town and we have one little bitty umbrella between us and the bottom.....falls.....out!!! It is raining like a mug!!! We are huddled under this little umbrella and trying to run and I see this BIG tent and head for it!! Jamie said, we don't know these people to which I replied I don't care!!! So they became our new best friends as we waited for 1 hour for the rain to stop!! Then we plodded on to Moe's as the game had been delayed an hour, we hadn't missed a thing!

The game was AWESOME!! I just knew at the beginning that West Virginia was going to hand us our butt on a platter! HOWEVER, those Tigers prevailed and we won!!! Now, I have had NO voice whatsoever since Sunday!! NONE!! Because, I yelled my head off!! I cheered and high-fived people I did not even know! I was a total maniac! There were people pulling their chairs up there where we were sitting! They wanted in on the action!! They know ME now!!

Oh boy, do they know me.....

War Eagle!!!

  2. OMG!!! Al and I were in that craziness. We spent the hour of the delay, nose to nose, and butt to butt, with strangers, all draped in stinky plastic - in the outer area of the stadium. There were a few times that I thought for sure we were all going to be crushed!!

They wouldn't let anyone go into the stadium. We heard that the poor guys who were already in their seats couldn't leave either, unless it was an emergency!

It was really HORRIBLE!! But they finally let us into the stadium and it was a gross, wet mess. But, we soon forgot our surroundings!! What an incredible game!!! It was awesome.

  6. Oh how fun!!! I love football, especially college games. We usually hit Ohio State or Indiana. I know no stranger, myself. Mr. Sullivan knows after all these years that he will have new friends to meet when he is with me. Glad you had such a good time! hugs, Sue

  8. Sounds like you're a big Auburn fan! We are GA Bulldogs! As for the framed pumpkin project, all I did was cut a pumpkin in half and hot glue it to some paper in a frame. Soooo easy!!!
