A Double Post!!

I have been so lax in posting lately I decided that I would join in today for Rhoda's LAST Today's Thrifty Treasures for this season and also Susan's Met Monday! So be sure to go over and visit Rhoda and Susan so you can visit all the wonderful participants!!

I found these salt and pepper shakers at a yardsale and they just appealed to me. I don't know why, I guess the shape of them and the silver tops. They are heavy! The tops were tarnished and I had seen on a blog (I wish I could remember which one) that you put the tarnished silver in a bowl lined with aluminum foil, sprinkle baking soda over it and then port boiling water over it to cover! It really works!! I took out these gleaming silver shaker tops in just a few minutes!

Now I have this white armoire in my kitchen, and I have been talking about painting it for two years and never seemed to get around to it! Well, today I MADE myself get around to it!! It is great for storage and has my little tv inside that I watch while I am cooking, plus larger serving pieces and cookware! So this...

transformed to this...

I just love it!!

Why didn't I do this SOONER???

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and be sure to check out everyone elses wonderful treasures and transformations!!

  4. Lou Cinda, The tv armoire looks really good dressed in its new black paint. I'm glad you had luck with the silver cleaning process- I tried it once on a small tray and it didn't work for me. So out came the cleaner...LOL I still don't get how some people think it is therapeutic to shine silver...

Hello Miss Lou Cinda~I've just strolled into your blog for my first visit...I've enjoyed taking a peek at your past posts. What beauty! You've got so many wonderful treasures, including your family.

The one thing that can cheer me up as I watch summer come to a close is... the anticipation of fall and all the autumnal colors that come with it and the inspiration it provides for creating. Isn't it nice to see the transformation a little TLC and paint can make.

I have to ask about your gorgeous table and chairs. The fabric and style are stunning!! The chairs appear taller like a bistro style. I sure wished you could point me in the direction to the designer who you purchased that set from!

I've bookmarked you in my favs.
I look forward to coming by your charming blog again.
Come by for a visit. Your company would be nice.

    Sweet wishes,
    Sara

Wow, your tv cabinet in the kitchen turned out beautiful! Don't you just love painting things black? The dark color anchor's the room now, before the white made it feel like it was floating in the room and not connecting to anything. Love, love it! Great job. Hey, I've got a new day on Friday called "Frugalicious Fridays" where you can link up your fabulously frugalicious finds and Diy's! This post would be perfect darling! I hope you can stop by Friday!
